Focus on innovation and top performance

Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of Agriculture Peter Hauk visited our farm in Westerstetten on Thursday, June 5, 2025, together with a delegation of over 80 participants. The trip was organized in an environmentally friendly way by train and took the delegation to some of the leading companies in the state.

As part of his visit, Minister Hauk toured both LEHNER Agrar GmbH and LEHNER Maschinenbau GmbH. We are particularly pleased that LEHNER Maschinenbau GmbH has been recognized by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry for Rural Areas with the “Top in the Countryside” award for the second time since 2017. This is a special honor that comes with a large amount of funding for innovative projects.

We are currently working on new innovations and smart projects that will further strengthen our company’s status and market position worldwide. Our commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability has made us a pioneer in the agricultural and agricultural technology sector for years. The export share is currently around 34%, with products in demand not only throughout Europe but also overseas – particularly in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

The new funding recognizes this achievement and confirms that we will continue this path and continue to invest in the site and in new, innovative solutions. The delegation led by Mr. Hauk was able to see this for themselves during their almost 2-hour visit, which included a tour of the plant and a product exhibition on the open-air site. In addition to the individual part series production using the 3D printing process, our warehouse with around 2,500 storage locations was particularly impressive. A basic prerequisite for being able to ship the 12V spreaders, which are usually produced in stock, within 24 or 48 hours as promised.

The impressions gathered during the day were analyzed and discussed in a small group during the subsequent impulse talk with Minister Hauk and deepened over coffee and cake for everyone. Among those present were Westerstetten’s mayor Alexander Bourke, the First state official Markus Möller and, from our side, Ralf Hübner, Thomas Renz and Helmut Lehner. Our special thanks go to the building yard of the municipality of Westerstetten and the rural women of Westerstetten for their active support.
