POLARO® C
with metal hopper
The Metalhead with cool features for maximum ease of use
The POLARO® C combines a high material capacity with a low centre of gravity, making it particularly suitable for wheel loaders, tractors and forklift trucks with the appropriate load capacity.
Metal parts and the hopper are made of stainless steel. The control panel is, of course, included as standard. The spreading width can be adjusted continuously between 0.8 and 6 m while driving by infinitely varying the spreading disc speed using the control panel or the app.
Furthermore, the hopper is equipped with everything you could wish for to make filling it with salt, sand or grit a breeze. Should the 250-litre capacity prove insufficient, the hopper’s capacity can be further increased with the appropriate extension.
The POLARO® C offers, including:
- Stepless adjustment of working width from 0.8 – 6.0 m (up to 12 m as an option)
- Operation via LAS4 control console (optionally with AUTO-DOSIS) – control via the LISA app is also possible
- Electronic, stepless adjustment of the spreading dosage
- Complies with the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO): fitted as standard with lighting, warning markings, reflectors and number plate holder

Special features of the POLARO® C
Increase grit capacity to 375 l or 500 l
With the stainless steel hopper extensions with a capacity of 125 l or 250 l, the capacity of the POLARO® C can be increased from 250 l to 375 l or doubled to 500 l, respectively. As part of the hopper upgrade, the lid, grid insert and slitting aid from the standard hopper are factory-fitted to the hopper extension. The POLARO® C is delivered with the hopper extension pre-assembled and is ready for immediate operation.
The stainless steel container: clever, safe and convenient
Thanks to the large filling opening and the lockable stainless steel lid, the container is easy to fill. The mesh insert allows for the convenient placement and slitting of grit bags and ensures that only free-flowing material enters the container. This reliably prevents blockages and mechanical damage.
Fitted as standard with equipment compliant with the StVZO
The POLARO® C comes as standard from the factory with all the markings and lighting elements required by the StVZO and DIN 30710, such as square warning markings, rear lights, round reflectors and a number plate holder including lighting.
Spreading with comfort and convenience – the LAS 4 control panel with empty indicator:
As well as setting the working width by infinitely adjusting the rotational speed of the spreading disc, all other switching functions are also controlled via the control panel. These include On/Off, setting the adjustment valve for spreading dosage, checking the voltage, etc. What’s more, the control panel issues a visual and acoustic warning when the hopper level is down to minimum or the valve is not in position. Even greater convenience is offered by speed-dependent metering via the AUTO-DOSIS control.
Prepared for LISA app control instead of a control panel
You already use mobile apps for various applications/devices – don’t want to route any more cables in the driver’s cab, just get in/climb on and get started? Then the LEHNER spreaders with LISA control (LEHNER Intelligent Spreader App) are definitely the right choice instead of the conventional control unit. To operate the spreader, simply use your own mobile device with a holder (not included with the spreader) and the free LEHNER LISA app. Our LISA-compatible LEHNER spreaders are our own closed system solutions, which is why it is not possible to upgrade/retrofit existing LEHNER spreaders with a control panel to an app solution.
Electronic dosing
In contrast to the POLARO®, the discharge rate for the POLARO® C is also set on the control panel or via LISA. Even more convenience is provided by the speed-dependent dosing via AUTO-DOSIS control (accessories), which is now standard equipment on the two POLARO® spreaders with app control.
Stainless steel agitator
The patented LEHNER agitator system guarantees a continuous flow of free-flowing material.
OPTIONAL: Stainless steel trolley
The empty spreader can simply be placed in the recess on the trolley and unhooked. The precisely fitting recess ensures it stands securely and allows for easy transport – even by a single person if required.

OPTIONAL: AUTO-DOSIS
AUTO-DOSIS automatically adjusts the valve position in line with the driving speed.
After you have entered the desired parameters, the AUTO-DOSIS (optional with the LAS 4 panel, standard with LISA control) automatically reacts to the driving speed – that is, to braking and acceleration as well – and controls the dosing valve accordingly. This keeps the discharge rate (g/m²) constant all the time.
1. AUTO-DOSIS via 7-pin signal socket
The driving speed is recorded via the 7-pin signal socket on the vehicle and transmitted to the LAS 4 control panel. In this version, the signal socket also includes the headland management system.
2. AUTO-DOSIS via GPS receiver
The speed is determined by GPS and transmitted to the LAS 4 control panel.
3. AUTO-DOSIS with LISA control as standard
The speed data are determined and processed by the GPS of the LISA control.
